March 9 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

March 9, 1 – 6 pm. Lily Cohen Ghobady, a NFLA member, has offered to organize a Nowruz event. Nowruz is a secular holiday that is celebrated by more than 300 million people around the world of various ethnic groups and diverse communities including those with Baha’i, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Zoroastrian, and nonreligious backgrounds. Nowruz symbolizes a time of renewal and recommitment to community and heralds the arrival of the new year as it ushers out the hardships of the previous seasons. Note: This is not a potluck. No need to bring anything to this event.

This is a first in a series of member-organized cultural celebrations. While Nature Friends California was founded by German, and Austrian immigrants and maintains an official commitment to celebrate “Alpine culture,” the membership has grown over time to reflect the diversity that is Los Angeles. We hope events such as these will help celebrate that diversity.
